Landry Brothers Recognized at Nova Scotia Legislature

Volunteer Award: Debbie Samson

Congratulations to Debbie Samson, the recipient of Cape Breton South Recruiting for Health's Making a Daily Difference Volunteer award, given to a healthcare volunteer who makes a positive impact in the facilities they volunteer with, and someone who goes the extra mile with patients and/or employees.

Debbie is a retired nurse who was instrumental in developing the We Care Days program, which contributes to the health and well-being of people in Cape Breton South, and she also holds numerous other volunteer positions in the community.

Local Volunteer Recognized with Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal

Congratulations to Barry Landry who was recognized with a Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for volunteerism in our community in April 2023 along with Lois Landry of nearby Isle Madame and several others from across the Province of Nova Scotia.

Louisdale Community Breakfasts Are Back!

The Louisdale Lions Club is excited to announce its monthly breakfasts have started again, slated for the last Sunday of each month at the Lions' Den Hall at 3128 Whiteside Road. Each Breakfast attracts 150-200 hungry visitors, and includes a great opportunity to meet up with your friends and neighbours!

Community Breakfasts in Louisdale are held the last Sunday of every month, 8:00am to 11:00am, we'll see you there!

Isabella Samson Wins Folk / Roots Recording of the Year at NS Music Week

Hot on the heels of her recognition as 2022 Canadian Folk Music Awards Young Performer of the Year, local musician Isabella Samson is making musical waves once again after winning Folk / Roots Recording of the Year at the 2022 Music Nova Scotia Awards at Nova Scotia Music Week for "If It's Not Forever". Congratulations to Isabella on this continued success!
